The final person charged over the disappearance of a six-year-old boy in Hamilton in 2006 has pleaded guilty to his abduction.

The woman, 36, was originally charged with kidnapping but this has been reduced to a lesser charge of abduction.

The woman, who has name suppression, was extradited from Australia in January this year.

She appeared in Hamilton District Court on Monday and will be sentenced on 26 June.

The woman is the sixth person charged after the boy was taken from central Hamilton and kept in hiding for five months.

His mother and grandfather pleaded guilty to abducting him, as did a family friend and two people in Northland.
