An Auckland property developer says it is great news consents will be fast-tracked under the Government's proposed changes to the Resource Management Act.
Under the changes, local councils would have just 10 working days to process non-notified consents, and it is suggested more consents would become non-notifiable.
Developer Mark Todd said speeding up consents will be a great option to fast-track projects and decrease legal fees.
But he says the bigger problem of a lack of supply, and an unwillingness to increase density, will continue to affect the Auckland housing market.
