The former deputy principal of a secondary school in Christchurch has lost name suppression after appearing in court and admitting to filming underneath girls' skirts.
Douglas Martin, formerly of Lincoln High School, has admitted charges relating to the making of 20 secret recordings of 17 girls. He was arrested in November last year.
Martin is on bail and due to be sentenced on 18 April.
Lincoln High School principal Linda Tame said it has been very difficult trying to communicate with students' families, given the suppression orders.
Ms Tame said the orders meant she does not know who the victims are, but there is plenty of support for them.
A team of guidance counsellors are at the school, but if extra help is needed students and parents would be referred to outside agencies, she said.
