Police hit-and-run suspect arrested

The second of three people wanted after a police officer was injured during a pursuit has been arrested in Wellington.

The stolen car the 23-year-old Otara man and two others were in struck the officer as he was laying road spikes during the chase on Tuesday.

One man was arrested after the vehicle plunged into the water off Beach Haven Wharf on Auckland's North Shore, but two other people evaded a major police search.

Police say a 23-year-old Otara man was arrested on Saturday in Wellington as a result of information from the public.

He will appear in court on Monday facing numerous charges, including aggravated wounding, two counts of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

Police are still calling for any sightings of Linda Cherie Phillips.

Detective Sergeant Scott Armstrong believes she will be found soon with the public's help.

He says Linda Phillips has strong links to South Auckland and could be in that area.
