Legal action over leaky schools

The Ministry of Education has taken legal action against builders, designers and architects for the cost of repairs to 87 leaky schools.

The ministry has identified 305 leaky schools. Repair costs are expected to reach $1.4 billion.

The ministry says it is pursuing all relevant parties that had a contractual relationship with it or the Board of Trustees.

Legal action has been resolved for repairs to 13 schools.
