Three police officers who wore identical badge numbers while evicting Occupy protesters in Auckland last year have been dealt with through a code of conduct process.
Police badges are used to provide the public with a way to identify individual police officers
A police spokesperson said an internal investigation found two officers breached code of conduct standards, while a performance issue was identified with the third officer.
The details of their sanctions are confidential.
Two of the officers involved remained with the police, while the third has left on unrelated matters.
Police Commissioner Peter Marshall said in a statement he is satisfied the officers were dealt with appropriately, and that they are fully aware of the foolishness of their actions.
He is satisfied it was an isolated case and does not reflect wider issues within the force.
