One in five home mortgage holders would choose to miss a payment if it came to a choice between that or their other bills, a survey suggests.
The Dun and Bradstreet Payment Priority Study also found 51% of those surveyed have paid a bill late in the last 12 months.
Of those polled, 60% said an awareness that late payments would be listed on their credit report would make them more likely to pay bills on time.
