Police do not think anyone else was involved in the shooting death of a 22-year-old man in Waikato.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson said the Ngaruawahia man had been drinking with some friends before returning home on Saturday night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Patterson said a gun went off and the man was fatally injured when police arrived.
He said police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the death.
