A man police say was attacked by two men with iron bars is in Hutt Hospital.
Police say the men confronted the 27-year-old victim at his house in Upper Hutt at 4.30pm on Sunday, leaving him with a suspected broken arm and bruising.
They then fled in a car but were stopped and arrested by a nearby police patrol.
Two men aged 24 and 30 will appear in the Lower Hutt District Court on Monday charged with assault and police say more serious charges may be laid after they have spoken to witnesses.
