Auckland Regional Council says the America's Cup-style sailing regatta staged in Auckland over the summer pumped an extra $16 million into the region.
The council says the marine industry got the biggest boost, picking up sales and work worth an estimated $9 million linked to the event.
A report it commissioned says the other beneficiaries from the summer regatta were hospitality and tourism businesses, which received an extra $5.5 million.
Television coverage to 100 countries is also hoped to bring benefits in the future.
The Government put $750,000 into the event and local bodies a further $60,000.
