Extra support on way for Novopay-hit schools

7:46 pm on 18 March 2013

The Government has confirmed it will provide extra support for schools dealing with pay problems related to the Novopay system.

The system has been dogged with problems since its introduction last August, and schools are demanding compensation for the extra hours spent trying to fix the errors.

The office of Tertiary Education Minister Steven Joyce has confirmed the minister will provide an update on Novopay on Tuesday, as expected by school principals.

It says this will include an update on a technical review of the system, as well as government plans to deal with Novopay issues.

The office says Mr Joyce will also release information about additional support to help schools with their extra payroll work.
