After a long wait, consumers will be able to buy Marmite from the early hours of Wednesday.
Sanitarium was forced to close operations at its Christchurch factory last year due to earthquake damage.
General manager Pierre van Heerden says the factory has been strengthened and will be able to withstand quakes.
Mr van Heerden says about half a million pottles of the spread will be available from midnight on Tuesday.
He says a special ceremony will be held at a Christchurch supermarket on Wednesday to declare Marmite's return.
