Police in Canterbury believe a fugitive has struck again - this time targetting a shop in Darfield.
William Stewart has been on the run since February and police believe a number of burglaries and vehicle thefts are linked to him.
Police say the Four Square Store was burgled at 4.25am on Tuesday but police cordons failed to catch the offender.
They say video footage of the burglary and the sighting of a grey four-wheel-drive ute leaving the scene led them to believe the burglar was Mr Stewart.
