Former Black Cap Jesse Ryder has been discharged from Christchurch Hospital, almost a week after being seriously beaten in an attack.
The cricketer had been suffering from a collapsed lung and fractured skull, following the attack outside a Merivale bar on Thursday morning.
His manager, Aaron Klee says he's returned to Wellington, and is relieved and happy he's back home.
A 20-year-old and his 37-year-old relative have been charged with assault and will appear in Christchurch District Court on Thursday.
