Police say a Hamilton supermarket worker chased a thief for several kilometres to retrieve a customer's stolen wallet.
An employee of a Pak'nSave store called police after a man stole a woman's wallet and cell phone from her trolley and pushed her over.
They say that, meanwhile, another worker chased the suspect through several properties and down streets before catching up with him and handing him over to police.
The wallet was returned to the customer but the cellphone was not retrieved.
