Attempt by NZ team on mountain

8:50 am on 6 April 2013

A New Zealand team of mountaineers is to tackle Mt Anidesha Chuli in the Himalayas.

The team of four will set off later this month to climb the 6800 metre peak, which is also known as the White Wave. It is an unclimbed mountain in eastern Nepal.

Organiser Rob Frost said the expedition should take about three weeks to reach the summit from the base camp, but four weeks to get to and from the mountain itself.
