A body found after a fire at a Christchurch house has been taken out of the building.
Police say the removal on Wednesday was difficult because the fire caused so much structural damage to the Peterborough Street house which was vacant due to earthquake damage.
They say it is still too early to tell if the cause of the death or the fire was accidental or deliberate.
