A man is due to appear in court in Christchurch on Monday after footage was posted on the internet of the men accused of attacking cricketer Jesse Ryder.

Ryder was critically injured when he was assaulted outside a bar in Christchurch late last month.

Two men, aged 37 and 20, have been charged over the attack, but their names and images cannot be published because of a suppression order.

However, the accused were videoed on a mobile phone which was posted on YouTube. On Friday a man turned himself into police.

AAP reports he is due to appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday charged with breaching a suppression order, which carries penalties of up to six months in prison or a fine up to $50,000.
