Pair expelled after using cannabis at school

A Christchurch school says two of its pupils have been expelled after a group of students were found to have used cannabis on school grounds.

Cobham Intermediate School says 11 students were involved in the incident in March.

Principal Scott Thelning said on Friday the school's board of trustees allowed nine of the students to return to school, but two have been excluded.

Mr Thelning said it was an isolated incident.

Police say their Youth Aid staff will work with the students, who are too young to face prosecution.
