Selwyn residents should boil water

10:17 am on 22 April 2013

The Selwyn District Council in Canterbury says residents should boil their water, after heavy rainfall may have leached foreign particles into the water supply.

Residents on the Springfield water supply should boil their water for at least three minutes until further notice.

A Selwyn District Council spokesperson says extra chlorine has been added to the water supply as a precaution and the council will monitor the reticulation system.
