Auckland City have virtually assured themselves of the Oceania League title and with it a place in December's World Club Cup after the first leg of the final.

The New Zealand Football Championship winners cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Solomon Islands' top side Koloale at Honiara's Lawson Tama Stadium.

Keryn Jordan scored a second half hat-trick as City came back from 1-0 down after 10 minutes to take a 3-1 lead at half-time.

Paul Urlovic, Ki-Hyung Lee, Ivan Vicelich and Matt Williams all scored one apiece for Auckland.

About 12,000 watched the game.

The second leg is in Auckland on May 3.
