NZQA plans online exams

9:25 pm on 30 April 2013

The Qualifications Authority wants students to complete assessments and exams online and when they're ready to, rather than during usual exam periods.

Chief executive Karen Poutasi said the authority will work with schools over the next three years to develop a plan, with the aim of internal assessments and exams being marked online within five years.

After that, Ms Poutasi said she expects that NZQA would deliver assessments to anyone, anywhere, anytime, online and on demand.

Ms Poutasi said the general plan is a response to the cultural shift in schools that is already happening.
