A Whanganui police officer is on trial accused of seeking sexual favours from a woman in exchange for not charging her with driving offences.
Hayden Clifford Bradley is accused of corruption. His trial began in the High Court in New Plymouth on Monday.

Crown prosecutor Cherie Clarke says the complainant was driving while disqualified when Mr Bradley stopped her last year, but she lied about it.
The court was told that in later conversations, the accused said he would not charge her but wanted something personal, which he called "some R18 stuff", in return.
The woman was concerned by her initial meeting with Mr Bradley and contacted another officer who arranged for her to record further conversations.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Kirby told the court he encouraged the woman to record these conversations and said he needed to know exactly what the accused wanted from her, but she was not to offer any sexual favours.
The complainant then taped a meeting in an unmarked police car, in which Mr Bradley can be heard asking for what he calls something R18, a kiss and suggesting that they play a little.
