The bill for the fatal tornado that hit Auckland last year is now $16 million.
Three construction workers died and more than 380 homes were damaged when the tornado swept through Hobsonville and Whenuapai on 6 December.
The insurance council has updated its final bill, saying the cost for house and contents, commercial claims and vehicles is now at $8.7 million - $2 million more than the previous estimate.
Many of the homes destroyed in Hobsonville were military properties and the Defence Force insurance bill is $1.4 million.
Other costs include about $3.5 from the power company to fix lines and restore electricity.
The Auckland Council says the cost for arborists and parks staff, who cleared debris and fallen trees, is about $1.5 million.
