A scheme that distributes free fish heads is now working from the Far North to Marlborough.
TV3 Fishing Show host Matt Watson started a website last summer to connect boaties with people who regard fish heads as a delicacy.
He wants to reduce the waste of good food that happens when fishers fillet their catch and discard the heads and frames.
He says he loves eating fish heads himself and hates to see them rotting on beaches when they could have fed a family.
People who want to take part in the scheme can register on the website, FreeFishHeads.co.nz .
