Drama in court as witness calls up 'spirit'

Dramatic evidence by a witness who says he is a divine healer has been given the High Court in Wellington.

Nine people are charged with the manslaughter of Janet Moses, 22, who died during an attempted exorcism in Lower Hutt in 2007.

David McMillan told the court he felt something evil in the Lower Hutt house and blessed all those who were there.

On Tuesday afternoon, he placed his hand on a concrete statue of a lion, the theft of which was said to have caused all the trouble.

Mr McMillan said he could see the spirit of a man who had vomited on the lion statue and wanted to apologise for the trouble he had caused.
