The New Zealand banking and accounting software company Xero has won a Webby award honouring excellence on the internet.
Xero won the award for banking and bill paying after creating a simple and secure online accounting system for small businesses.
Xero's head of design Phillip Fierlinger says winning the Webby will significantly benefit the marketing of their product and should help catapault Xero into the international arena.
Only a handful of other New Zealand sites have won Webby awards and Xero is the first fully commercial New Zealand company to do so.
