Name suppression lapses for exorcism accused

Name suppression has lapsed for nine people charged over the death of a woman during an attempted exorcism in Lower Hutt.

Janet Moses, 22, died in October 2007. Each of the accused faces a charge of manslaughter in the High Court at Wellington.

They are: John Rawiri, Georgina Rawiri, Tanginoa Apanui, Glenys Wright, Hau Wharepapa, Aroha Wharepapa, Angela Orupe, Gaylene Kepa and Alfred Kepa.

Name suppression continues for two people charged with the ill-treatment of a child, in order to protect the child's identity.
