A dog has been shot in a dispute between neighbours in Motueka.
Police and the Armed Offenders' Squad responded to an incident at a rural property on West Bank Road about 10.20am on Monday.
A dog which was allegedly worrying sheep was shot in the incident and has been taken to the vet for treatment.
A second shot was fired into the ground intentionally to unload the firearm.
The people are helping the police with their enquiries.
