7:04 am on 8 May 2009

The union representing striking flight attendants says an Air New Zealand service was cancelled on Thursday and there will be further disruption on Friday.

Members of the Engineering, Printing & Manufacturing Union who work for an airline subsidiary, Zeal 320, are on strike for four days.

They want pay parity with crew employed directly by Air New Zealand.

The company says all scheduled flights departed on Thursday, although about five were consolidated or merged. It's not aware of any disruption today.

The union says it understands "one or two" Sydney flights will be cancelled on Friday morning.
