Record amounts of locally made programmes were screened on television last year.
The NZ On Air says there more than 11,600 hours of locally made programmes screened in 2008.
The figure is an increase of 7% on the year before.
Chief executive Jane Wrightson says there were more entertainment shows and also more locally made children's shows and news programmes than in previous years.
