Second stage of poultry investigation

11:44 am on 16 May 2013

Inspectors from the Ministry of Primary Industries are inspecting more than 40 premises that are suspected of receiving illegal poultry products.

Two farms in South Auckland were raided earlier this month, when 150 chickens and 700 eggs were seized, plus equipment and a large amount of cash.

The ministry said the second stage of the investigation began this week with visits to properties that may have received the products.

No charges have been laid yet.
