Russell to oversee disability providers panel

7:15 pm on 17 May 2013

Consumer advocate David Russell has been appointed to oversee an independent panel to review the auditing and monitoring of residential disability providers.

The move follows the cancelling of contracts held by Parklands, a South Auckland residential care home.

Health Minister Tony Ryall says the panel will also review the ministry's handling of complaints about Parklands which date back to 2001.

The Government has already appointed Karen Van Eden and Beverly Grammer to the panel.
