An Auckland Prison inmate who wounded two others in a stabbing incident is likely to face charges.
Police say one of the other prisoners needed hospital treatment. The other received minor injuries.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown said the wounded inmate is now back in prison, but is being kept apart from his attacker.
Auckland Prison manager Thomas Sherlock said the incident on Tuesday was immediately contained and no officers were injured.
