A fire in central Queenstown restaurant is believed to have started in a deep fryer.
The blaze began in the kitchen of a pizza parlour on Shotover Street on Friday before spreading to The World Bar upstairs.
The roof of the building housing the businesses collapsed.
Fire Service area commander Keith McIntosh says the blaze would not have been so severe if the owners had installed sprinklers.
