The Qualifications Authority is seeking an interim injunction against a company accused of selling essays for university and polytechnic courses.

The authority on Tuesday filed an application for an injunction against Ateama Ltd, which runs the Assignment4U website, and the two individuals who run the company.

It says the action follows a police search of the company's premises following allegations that Assignment4U provided cheating services.

The authority says a vast amount of information has been collected and where there is evidence of cheating and assessment fraud, it is likely there will be further legal action.

The application will be heard by the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday
