One person is dead after a car crashed into a power pole in South Wairarapa.
Police were called to the crash Kahutara Road, which runs along the eastern side of Lake Wairarapa, just after 3am on Thursday.
They say one man died, and a second was taken by helicopter to Wellington Hospital. His condition is described as moderate.
