A police officer wounded by gunman Jan Molenaar in Napier has been moved to a general ward at Hawke's Bay Hospital.

A hospital spokesperson says Senior Constable Bruce Miller was moved out of intensive care to a general ward on Sunday and is in a stable condition.

Senior Constable Grant Diver and injured local resident Leonard Holmwood remain in a stable condition in a general ward.

Senior Constable Len Snee, 53, was killed by Molenaar, whose body was found about midday on 9 May at his Chaucer Road house, at the end of an armed seige.
