Heavy rain and wind have disrupted ferry sailings in the capital on Tuesday.
Public transport operator Metlink said sailings of the cross-harbour East By West ferries have been cancelled and shuttle buses will take passengers from Wellington to Eastbourne.
Meanwhile, KiwiRail said theInterislander Aratere ferry will not be sailing on Wednesday morning due to expected high waves.
The ferry was going to be carrying only commercial freight.
