Residents in a seven-floor apartment building in central Auckland were evacuated on Monday after police found chemicals used to make the drug methamphetamine.
Police say they were called to a domestic dispute before midday at the Nautilus building on Hobson Street.
District shift commander Malcom Tillson says officers found chemicals used to make methamphetamine.
One man was arrested, but another ran off.
All residents except those living on the floor where the chemicals were found have been allowed to return to their apartments.
The police clandestine lab team is examining the scene.
