Foundation for blind may cut 9 jobs

The Royal Foundation of the Blind could lose up to nine employees involved in marketing and fundraising because of the recession.

Staff are being consulted and a final decision is expected by the end of June.

Foundation chairman Don McKenzie says it is no surprise the economic downturn is having an impact on the organisation.

He says discretionary giving tends to be an early casualty when people are struggling to make ends meet.
