Auckland police are investigating a serious assault that ended with three people injured and a dramatic air rescue.
Police are revealing few details about the incident, near Lucas Creek at Paremoremo, on Auckland's North Shore.
They have confirmed a man has been airlifted to hospital from mudflats in the area with serious injuries. Another man and a woman have been taken to hospital.
A white truck, believed to have been used by one of the men, has been abandoned in the mudflats.
