Television New Zealand has announced that newsreader Simon Dallow and presenter Alison Mau have separated.
The network says the couple had been together for 19 years and married for 13. They have two children, aged eight and 11.
In a statement, Dallow and Mau say their children remain their most important priority and the separation is amicable.
TVNZ says despite their high-profile jobs it sees the matter as very private and personal.
Dallow is the newsreader for flagship programme One News, while Mau is a presenter on Breakfast.
