Griffins biscuit supplies disrupted after factory move

Food manufacturer Griffins says minor difficulties in moving its biscuit production to Auckland have resulted in problems in supplying supermarkets.

At the end of last year, Griffins closed the door of its Lower Hutt factory after 70 years in operation.

It says during the commissioning of an extended facility at Papakura in Auckland, it experienced some minor teething issues and is working hard to ensure that any supply problems are resolved swiftly.

One major supermarket chain, Foodstuffs in Wellington, says many of its stores in the Lower North Island are still experiencing disruption to supply.
