Factory owner urges help for special needs workers

A Marlborough factory owner who employs only people with disabilities is appealing to the Government not to make further funding cuts that could jeopardise jobs.

Mark Witchall hoped to expand his project to put a dozen special needs people every six months through a training programme to help them find jobs.

But he says the $120,000 he needed over three years to do that has been rejected by the Government.

Mr Witchall says despite missing out on funding to help more people with disabilities get jobs, he is carrying on with his factory programme.
