Up to 125 food processing jobs could go in Gisborne, as Cedenco looks to restructure.
Manager Richard Thorp says the company has reviewed its operations and is looking to close its corn packing factory by the end of the year.
Mr Thorp says the high dollar, increasing business costs and the recession are all to blame.
A final decision is expected in the next week to 10 days.
