Swine flu risk warning repeated

7:27 pm on 17 July 2009

Health authorities are repeating warnings to people most at risk from swine flu, as the number of deaths linked to the virus in New Zealand rises to 10.

Public health deputy director Darren Hunt, says the latest fatality was a Gisborne man, in his 40s, who had other health problems.

Dr Hunt says it's essential people at a high risk of complications seek help early.

The World Health Organisation says the swine flu outbreak is the fastest-moving pandemic ever and it is now pointless to count every case.
