War medals trial aborted after legal arguments

5:43 pm on 17 August 2009

The trial of a man who helped bring about the return of stolen war medals has been aborted.

Daniel Crichton faces 10 charges of supplying methamphetamine and one of offering to supply a class B drug.

He was bailed from prison last year for his part in the return of medals stolen from Waiouru Army Museum in 2007.

A jury had already been selected for Monday's trial but after about two hours of legal arguments in chambers the trial was aborted.

The charges still stand and Mr Crichton is set to appear again in September.
