Ski field operator warns against misuse of passes

12:03 pm on 18 August 2009

A Queenstown ski field operator is warning that people using fraudulent ski passes risk facing court action, after several people were caught with such passes.

NZSki, which runs The Remarkables, Coronet Peak and Mount Hutt fields, says six people were caught at the weekend.

Chief executive James Coddington says some of the six altered the expiry dates of their passes with stickers, while others tried to use a season pass that had been issued to someone else.

Mr Coddington says it is illegal to sell or share season passes, which are non-transferable.
