A woman charged in connection with the suspicious death of a premature baby has been granted bail.
The boy was between four and 10 weeks' premature and was found dead at a house in the West Auckland suburb of Green Bay on Monday afternoon.
A post-mortem was carried out on Tuesday but police have not revealed the cause of death.
The woman, 18, appeared in Waitakere District Court on Wednesday on a charge of concealing the baby's body.
All details relating to her identity were suppressed. She was granted bail to her home address, which differs to where the child was found.
Her bail conditions include a 24-hour curfew and not associating with anyone under the age of 16 unless supervised.
The woman will reappear in court in September.
